I don’t look at FireStats nearly as much as Wall (he tells me about it on the phone), but I did aauctlly happen to look at it today, and noticed traffic from Twitter. Which turned out to be from the author of Tagline Rotator. Who was surprised we would list his plugin alongside a heavy-weight like Akismet.I don’t use Twitter, but in case that plugin author happens to see this: we listed your plugin because it fills a unique niche for our site, in a very useful way that makes it rival how useful Akismet is to us, regardless of the fact that yours is a comparatively more simple plugin in terms of functionality. That’s not the standard of measurement we’re applying here. Way, way back, as in 2003, Life’s Not Simple had rotating quotes since that was something we always thought was funny. Inevitably it’s just a bucket of inside jokes that is probably confusing and possibly even turns away viewers, heh. But nowadays, not having to write that code again myself, and having it in a form that is easily integrated with our CMS of choice is immensely valuable. Hence, Tagline Rotator being on this list.
